Fashion Week has cast its creative aura over
the Spanish capital, celebrating its 40th anniversary with a display of talent
and style that transforms Madrid into a living stage. Once again, street style
asserts itself as a language of identity, while the city’s most iconic corners
host events where designers, artists, and fashion lovers converge in a symphony
of trends.
As we await the imminent opening of IFEMA’s
Pavilion 14 (from February 19 to 23), we have already witnessed the first
runway shows, offering a glimpse of the vibrant pulse of Spanish fashion. Among
them, Juan Duyos’ proposal has resonated with special strength, bringing to the
catwalk a vision where technology and memory intertwine in an embrace of
modernity and nostalgia.

TECNO: A Manifesto Against Time
The Museo del Traje in Madrid set the stage for
Duyos to unveil Tecno, his Fall-Winter 2025-2026 collection. In a setting where
fabrics speak of history and evolution, the designer chose to look both to the
past and the future, breaking away from conventions and turning his show into a
manifesto against ageism.
More than 40 models, ranging in age from 18 to
64, walked through the museum’s halls and staircases, defying the rigid
standards of an industry that often forgets that beauty is a concept in
constant transformation. Among them, iconic names of Spanish fashion from the
’90s and 2000s—such as Laura Sánchez, Cristina Piaget, María Reyes, and Paola
Dominguín—made a comeback, gracing the runway with the confidence and elegance
that only time can bestow.

Duyos invites us to dream of a future where
fashion is not a straight line but a play of contrasts: iridescent and metallic
fabrics blend with the sharpness of denim; gemstones and patent leather merge
with pleats and maxi sequins, while wool and kiddasia add a warm, enveloping
texture.
Silhouettes become energetic and eclectic:
cascading or mini-cut dresses, A-line and bubble shapes, voluminous sleeves
that defy gravity, and oversized trench coats that drape the body with
sophisticated ease. Optimism reigns in the color palette: white, metallic pink,
silver, and gold coexist with deep tones like ultramarine blue, chocolate, and
black, while aqua green offers a breath of freshness amidst the glow of
iridescent finishes.

Duyos’ proposal is, ultimately, an ode to
fashion as a space of freedom, where age is just a number and creativity knows
no bounds. With Tecno, the designer reminds us that fashion not only dresses
bodies but also wraps stories, emotions, and a constant reinvention of
femininity. A powerful message, woven with threads of nostalgia and
avant-garde, that resonates beyond the runway and leaves its mark on the
collective imagination of this very special Fashion Week.
